The Tidal Testing Centre (TTC), located in Alkmaar in the north of Holland, has two core activities: 1) TTC offers project - and process management in Dutch marine energy product development and maintains an extensive network within the marine energy sector, which involves the extraction of energy from tides, waves, salinity gradients and ocean thermal energy conversion. We work hand- in-hand with knowledge institutes, product developers, universities, (inter)national network organisations and many others.

and 2) TTC provides excellent testing opportunities for tidal turbine technology at intermediate scale. TTC offers several test locations in the Netherlands  in order to further develop your technology; in ducted channels and at our offshore floating platform site. We closely collaborate with other organisations, such as Deltares, ECN, NIOZ and EMEC and participate in international networks for example on the development of standards in the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC to help advance the marine energy industry.

TTC has been involved in several funded research projects both in national and international consortia, which shows our broad experience in the field. We facilitate marine energy product development, from design to actual implementation; to find a best-fit introduction to the market.

We look forward to help advance your technology further!
